WHY MULCH

MANY REASONS TO MULCH! HERE ARE A FEW

Why should you mulch?

The short answer is: It’s good for the plants.

Most plants are 80 to over 90% water.  (people are about 68%) Like us, they need a lot of it to stay alive. Even desert plants have to have a lot to stay alive

Mulch will help plants make use of the ground water available by preventing it from being evaporated into the air due to light and heat.  Less water evaporation means more water for the plant to draw on.

It will save water and money!Even on the hottest days mulch will keep the ground moist even though it appears to be dry on top. In some cases the evaporation rate can drop by as much as 90%. That’s a lot of water and money saved. Water saved during one hot summer will probably cover the cost of the mulch.

Mulch help resist soil erosion. It holds and slows waterflow so what might have been washed away, is retained.

Mulch cuts the rate of growth of weeds and or unwanted seed sprouts.  They need water and Sun to convert to sugar for energy and growth. Mulch blocks their main source of energy. Making it harder to grow through a thick layer of mulch.

Mulch makes the garden look great. Whether it’s regular mulch (pines spruce firs elm etc.) or exotics such as Gorilla fur. Mulch gives the plants a great framework. Enhancing curb appeal. Increasing the value of your property without costing you much.

Mulch is nature’s primary soil nutrient purveyor.  Giving back to soil the nutrients that it used to grow.

Mulch can last quite a while. Up to 3 to 4 years. Many people “refresh” once a year or so. Even then you only need about 20% of the original amount.

If you are thinking about putting down mulch, you’ve got the right thoughts

?WHY MYMULCH?

Costing as little as $2.50 per cubic foot, Our price is in many cases, less than half the cost you would pay to go get it in bags at the store.

We deliver it, put it in your garden, spread it (for a nominal additional price) clean up. Leaving nothing for you to do except water an enjoy it.

If you wish, we can lay a weed carpet or hemp net to make sure the weeds do come up or the mulch slips out of place (weed barrier and hemp netting extra cost).

Because we bring it in barrels and not disposable bags, there are no plastic bags to sit in a garbage dump for the next thousand years. You leave nothing for your children’s, children’s, children to have to deal with…. Except a beautiful garden!
